Have you guys heard about the DC Design House? It's a nonprofit event that began in 2008 as a unique design show house for the DC Metro area in which top area designers showcase their talents into a “flowing design home” to raise funds for a local charity.

This year's house is located at 9004 Congressional Court, Potomac, Maryland, and will include DC area designs in 23 beautiful spaces within the house. The house also features four boutiques, and will host special events throughout the month in the home’s ballroom, plus a daily on-site café by Relish Catering. The cafe’s covered terrace is outfitted with gorgeous unique furnishings by Country Casual Teak, overlooking the pool, pool house, and garden.
The expansive house will be on display from September 30 through October 29, 2017, and it is an absolute MUST SEE. When else will you get the chance to roam around a $10M house while sipping champagne and noshing on gourmet bites from Relish Catering? Chef Ed cuts no corners in producing simple, and delicious bites. Not only is his display stunning, but his food is crafted with care and attention to detail. His nicoise crostini paired classic flavors together into a two bite finger food that packed a punch. The salted, lightly toasted crostini set the stage for the delicate poached tuna and classic accoutrements; and made way for a unique crostini option - maple chicken with pickled peaches - sweet, savory, and the necessary nourishment for touring 23+ rooms. There will also be a barista on site to keep your energy high and a wine bar to calm you back down from all the excitement! You've got to check out the café while you're there!

What began as a single event goal to raise funds for Children’s National Health System has developed into the region’s foremost annual residential design attraction and as a leading annual fundraiser event for Children’s National Health System. Established by business partners and husband-and-wife founders Skip and Debbie Singleton, Principals of DC Living Real Estate, LLC, in partnership with an all volunteer team of sponsors, organizers, regional media, design industry manufacturers and some of the nation’s most awarded and widely recognized designers, the DC Design House has quickly earned a following with more than 80,000 visitors and more than $1.78 million raised for Children’s National Health System over the last nine years. The tradition continues with the 2017 DC Design House.
